Ford, who Sunday became America's longest-lived President, surpassing President Reagan's record. That's a pretty quick turnaround, considering the record-holder for almost the entire history of the republic was John Adams. Of course, people live longer, so I suspect we'll see the record continue to be extended for many years to come. The cynic in me wonders if it's a good thing to have so many former Presidents running around, although in fairness, President Ford has been properly restrained and dignified in the decades since he stepped down from the office.
