« Someone Else Who Needs a Life Outside Politics | Main | The Tillman Investigation » March 05, 2006Life Outside Politics, RevisitedI poked some fun at Michael Kalin yesterday for his concerns over Jon Stewart's effect on the Democratic Party, suggesting he needs to get a life outside politics. Kevin Drum did so as well, but Kevin also pointed out that Kalin is at least putting his money where his mouth is: Kalin is currently working as a teacher in the New York City public school system. While Kalin and I probably disagree on a sizable fraction of all potential political issues, I have a great deal of respect for someone who is willing to sacrifice something for their beliefs. While I heartily dislike people who want to force the rest of the world to act in accordance with their beliefs, the world would be a lot better off if more people were willing to back up their words with deeds. My hat's off to Mr. Kalin. But I still think he needs to lighten up. Posted at March 5, 2006 08:14 AM
