I don't watch The Daily Show, so it will be interesting to see how Stewart does. Ouch, some political humor at the expense of the Democrats, and not the best response from the audience, but I thought it was cute. Kudos to Clooney's response to Stewart poking fun at him. Stewart is a little nervous, it seems, but I suppose that's to be expected as host of the Oscars. Ah, the ubiquitous Cheney hunting joke, although I'm not sure why he would shoot Bjork. Wow...Matt Dillon is a nominee. I haven't been paying attention this year, obviously. It must be chilly in Hell right now. Nice touch with the gay western montage. And we're off, with Nicole Kidman presenting Best Supporting Actor to...(come on, Matt Dillon! Clooney obviously has the inside track for antiAmericanism, but Jake Gyllenhall gets the gay vote...tough call)...Clooney wins, and antiAmericanism takes the early lead. (Actually, this could also be a bone thrown to Clooney since it's unlikely he has a chance in the other categories.) Not a bad speech by Clooney, until he starts trying to break his arm patting himself on the back. Ah, well, there are worse things he could have said. Posted at March 5, 2006 05:43 PM
