Now That's a Fire
I thought I'd seen what an Instalanche would do, but nothing prepared me for this week.

Although I should note this particular surge was helped along by David Pinto at Baseball Musings and the estimable Vodkapundit, but still...wow.

I apologize for only allowing authenticated commenters, but comment spam overwhelms the site if I don't use those measures to prevent it. I reserve the right to delete any comment, although generally comments will only be deleted due to use of profanity or personal attacks on people. I have no objection to vigorous argument, but when name-calling begins, I'm putting a stop to it. In the immortal words of Eugene Levy, "People, people, let's stop this before somebody says something untrue!" If you want to call people names, I recommend you get your own blog.

Nice graph. What's the difference between visits and page views?

Visits are unique: a single IP address viewing a page. Page views result when a single IP address requests more than one page on the site. For example, when you called up my main page today, Sitemeter recorded that as a visit and a page view. When you came to this page to comment, the number of page views went up by one, but the number of visits remained the same. Visits does not mean I had 3,000 people looking at the site, only that a smaller number of people viewed the site a total of 3,000 times.
