Still Better than Football

Not really how I would have liked to see the Sox open the season, but even the best teams are going to drop a few between now and October. Boston's 7-2 loss certainly wasn't pretty, but Pedro recovered from his early troubles to pitch six decent innings, and he's a proud guy, so this may spur him to greater heights for the rest of the month. With Nomar and Nixon out, the Sox are going to have to turn it up a notch to stay competitive this month.

Being from Baltimore, I'm quite excited about that Orioles' starting lineup this year. Of course, they're going to have to win a lot of 16-12 games, but... Stranger things have happened.

Gloss, gloss, gloss. Pedro stunk up the joint and so did Timlin.

Our hitting was okay, just spread out a lot. We left a lot of men on base.

Pokey Reese looked good though.

One game does not a season make. Pedro didn't look as good as I would have liked, but he came back strong after his early problems, and Timlin pitched just fine yesterday, so he doubtless just had a bad day. 162 games is a long time. Let's see how Pedro does in his next start.

I'm more concerned with them getting their hitting going; three runs a game isn't going to get the job done.
