Standing up for What Counts

Who say the blogosphere isn't making a difference? Just one day after my own concerns about the United States' treatment of Poland, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman notes his own concerns about one of our more faithful allies in the war. (OK, I suppose it's possible that Friedman was already planning to write a column about Poland, but I'm sure he was encouraged to see that I had already covered the issue.)

Money quote: "We are what we stand for." If only we could stand for the right things on a consistent basis.

Heh. I'm sure he was even more encouraged by reading my recommendation of Poland as a tourist destination...
