Fighting Back

17 of the high school students from Stratford High School in South Carolina are suing the city and the school district in the wake of last month's egregious drug raid. For those who missed it, the school was the subject of a drug raid that involved students having loaded guns pointed at them and being forced to lie on the floor while the police conducted searches for drugs. This is the fruit of our national war on drugs; thankfully, no one was hurt or killed in this incident, but innocents are far less likely on many occasions as our government seeks to 'protect' us by threatening us.

Here's hoping the students take the city and the school for every cent they have. Perhaps a lesson that costly might force a few officials to reconsider this foolish war.

Hat tip: Walter in Denver.
