Samarra Stuff

Jim Henley has a number of good posts on Sunday's action in Samarra. I had an enjoyable email discussion regarding the battle with him and Gary Farber today, and while we've by no means discovered all the answers, I know more now than I did this morning, and that's a fine day's work in my book. I'll try to put together my own assessment of the new information tomorrow, but for now I've got to be up in a little more than six hours and I doubt anything I could offer this evening would add substantially to the discussion (to which the cynic replies, and how would this differ in the morning?), so I'll take the better part of valor. Go read Jim's stuff, and don't forget to stop by Gary's place as well.
