Be Afraid For those of my readers who still believe in the government, I've finally got proof positive that the government can't be trusted to run anything: the 2003 U.S. Army Reserve Major's promotion list. You'll notice that the government has decided to promote me to Major...how can you possibly trust that kind of organization? Posted at 05:57 AM | PersonalComments
Hey! Congratulations! That's great. Go get 'em Major Major. Posted by: Enrak at August 7, 2003 06:09 AMCongratulations! You've come a long way from re-assembling phones in the science library. If only Tania could see you now... Posted by: Heather at August 7, 2003 09:21 AMActually, you'd be surprised how much being a Major involves re-assembling phones. I'm pretty sure that is why they promoted him. For a good look at being a Major and re-assembling phones, I'd recommend the movie - We Were Soldiers. Posted by: Enrak at August 7, 2003 10:59 AMCongratulations! And for those with any lingering doubts - look down in the W's. They must be insane to promote us both... Posted by: Dave at August 7, 2003 04:06 PMThat was the second name I checked... A Major? Does that mean I have to salute everytime I visit your site? No more bad mouthing you? No more mockery? Just great. Man, there goes my fun.......... Oh, and sometimes, despite themselves, government can still do something right. Congratulations! Now, if you would just work for a living and zip your pants up the front like inlisted men...... Posted by: Rook at August 8, 2003 12:13 AMDave, Congrats to you too - for both the promotion and the wedding! Posted by: Heather at August 8, 2003 06:47 AMNobody in the Army zips their pants up the front, Rook...we all wear button flies. Posted by: Andrew Olmsted at August 8, 2003 07:46 AMCongrats Major. I'm sure your uniform looks a lot better with a pair of gold oak leaves. :-) Posted by: dever at August 9, 2003 10:44 AMLOL, I thought that was just the Navy! But you didn't say anything about working............... Posted by: Rook at August 9, 2003 01:15 PMPost a comment
